Michel Chapoutier expands to Provence

Based in Tain-l’Hérmitage, the Chapoutier group has extended its range to Provence with the purchase of Château des Ferrages at Porcieux.

This renowned property produces approximately 170 000 bottles of Côtes de Provence and Côtes de Provence-Sainte Victoire. The production buildings spread over 1 000m². The present winery provides a capacity of 3 500 hl. There are plans to extend the winery with the aim of increasing production of Provence rosé.

“The Côtes de Provence are a part of the Rhône Provence Basin and are therefore in the continuity of the Côtes du Rhône” points out Corinne Chapoutier, Director of Marketing. This acquisition thus merges perfectly with the development strategy of the Chapoutier group.
