Ch\u00e2teau de Berne, whose headquarters and wine-tourism centre are based at Lorgues-Flayosc (Var), continues to expand in the C\u00f4tes de Provence. Ch\u00e2teau S\u00e9gur, which is owned by the same entity as Ch\u00e2teau de Berne, has recently completed the purchase of Ch\u00e2teau des Launes at Lagarde-Freinet in the Var.<\/p>\n

Ch\u00e2teau des Launes boasts a good location close to the Saint Tropez golf course. It comprises farm buildings, housing and a riding centre that have benefitted from significant investment by the previous Dutch owners. The property covers 45 ha, 22 ha of which is vineyard, and to this a further 27 ha, 20 ha of which in vines (AOP C\u00f4tes de Provence) belonging to Ch\u00e2teau R\u00e9quier has been added. Taking into consideration the area of land planted in vines, the \u201cexpanded\u201d version of des Launes permits a potential production of 2 000hl, which is to be marketed by the subsidiary sales company \u201cBerne Selection\u201d. At the end of last year\u2019s campaign, the sales structure had sold over 1 million bottles with excellent profit margins, 20% through export. Previous to this acquisition, the \u201cBerne Galaxy\u201d had already acquired Ch\u00e2teau Bertrands (90 ha) and Ludovic de Beaus\u00e9jour (20 ha) to complete the eponymous domain (118 ha).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
