The three brothers, Claude, Yves and Alain, have recently purchased Ch\u00e2teau Husson, at Courthezon (Vaucluse). Since 2008 the Ch\u00e2teau had belonged to Jean-Pierre Hugues, also owner of <strong>Domain de la Roy\u00e8re in the Luberon.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The domain, for which the purchase was finalised during July 2015, comprises 21 hectares of vines- 11 of which are in Ch\u00e2teauneuf du Pape and 10 in AOC C\u00f4tes du Rh\u00f4ne and C\u00f4tes du Rh\u00f4ne Villages \u2013 a winery, farm buildings and a house. The Auberts only plan to make use of the vines and not the buildings or house, at least for the near future. As of the next harvest, the grapes will be transported to Domaine Le Grand Retour, approximately 15 kilometres away.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWith this purchase, we are seeking to acquire above all a <strong>vineyard property and a \u201cterroir\u201d<\/strong>\u201d, explained Alain Aubert, one of the three associate brothers. \u201cWe have been looking for some time to join this end of the market, which is often hard to access.\u201d This sought-after appellation, until now lacking from their repertoire, will complete the Aubert family\u2019s already extensive range which includes IGP Chardonnay and Viognier (74 ha), AOP Grignan-les-Agh\u00e9mar (86 ha), C\u00f4tes du Rh\u00f4ne (70 ha), C\u00f4tes du Rh\u00f4ne Villages \u201cPlan de Dieu\u201d (156ha) and \u201cVisan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The total <strong>450 hectares of vines owned by the family produces approximately 20 000 hectolitres<\/strong>, half of which are vinified at the Travaillan site and half at Donz\u00e8re (Dr\u00f4me). A quarter of the production is sold in bottle, namely 700 000 bottles.
