Historic estate with 34ha of organic vineyard in IGP Alpilles
REF : PR281
Located in the Alpilles Regional Nature Park, this beautiful 61-hectare wine estate offers undeniable charm and enormous potential for any ambitious wine tourism project.
A vineyard steeped in history in the heart of the Alpilles mountains
The estate’s history dates back to ancient times. Occupied by the Visigoths and the Knights Templar, the estate’s past is as rich as its architecture. The Romans built a villa rustica here, in typical Roman rural style. Archaeological remains, including coins and pottery, bear witness to this occupation.
Over 600 m² of living space is arranged around a private courtyard. It comprises a main stone bastide dating from the 17th century, a farmhouse, two gîtes and the tower. This property has great potential and is in need of full renovation.
The winery covers more than 600 m² and is adapted to the production of more than 35 ha of vines, with a temperature-control unit, pneumatic press and 6,000 hl of concrete, fibreglass and stainless steel vats.
The 61-hectare estate comprises 33.94 hectares of IGP Alpilles vines, 9 hectares of which are ‘franc de pied’, with a further 26 hectares of plantable land. The vineyard has been certified organic since 2016. The terroir is composed of sandy loam with few stones. The vineyards are close to the Canal des Alpines and can be irrigated.
The annual yields are constant and the vineyard is planted with 11 grape varieties.
The wine is widely sold in bottle in France and on the export market.
This is a beautiful estate in need of renovation, steeped in history and with great potential, in a highly attractive tourist region.
