36 appellations d’origine make up the AOP vineyards of Languedoc-Roussillon, of which the most important, in terms of production, are AOP Corbières, AOP Languedoc, AOP Minervois et AOP Côtes du Roussillon. Alongside the AOP vineyards, “noble” varietals have been planted in order to produce varietal wines sold under the Vin de Pays d’Oc brand or under the local or county Vin de Pays brand.
