39 appellations constitute the southern Rhône vineyard, for a total production of nearly 3 000 000 hectolitres per year. AOP Châteauneuf du Pape remains the leader in the Rhône valley, both in terms of image and in terms of land value. Land is currently trading at close to 500 000 euros/ha in the most sought after areas of the appellation.

The main varietals of the region are as follows:
  • Black varietal: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Cinsault
  • White varietals: Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, Viognier
